The Happy End The Happy End
Not to be confused with the Japanese folk group Happy End, THE Happy End were a multi cultural British based big band with Socialist leanings. The name likely derives from Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht's musical, Happy End. The music ranges from re-inventing the club sounds of 30's Berlin along with strong songs of human struggle especially from Latin American and China. They grew in fame in the early eighties where they went shoulder to shoulder with Britains miners who were fighting a losing battle with the then Conservative Government for their very existence.
